Hello, I'm Cal!

I am honored to facilitate celebrations focused on joy, love, cocktails, and good food — exactly how my parents taught me! Cocktails with Cal started as a virtual mixology happy hour, teaching clients across the country about the art of crafting cocktails. Now, I am focused on doing in-person celebrations and classes, bringing elevated bites to the table alongside every perfectly crafted drink. With each event, I serve up balanced and delicious cocktails — along with personality and a spread worth talking about — and create the space for hosts to actually enjoy their own party. My Story

I grew up with the "Hostess with the Mostess" as my mother and an always-prepared party planner as my father. Every party, big or small, was a celebration that would put Gatsby to shame. Family, laughs, and love were at the center of each of my parents' parties — and so were cocktails and enough food to make sure nobody ever left hungry. Growing up, I was eager to start my journey as the next host with the most. As soon as I was old enough to hold a fifth of liquor, I was making my loved ones their favorite drinks. An old fashioned for my grandpa, a gimlet for my grandma, a Grey Goose, slightly dirty, no vermouth martini for my mom and her sister, and a gin martini, 3 olives, "the way it's meant to be" for my dad. Each cocktail particularly crafted and taught to me by, in my 13-year-old eyes, master mixologists. This is where my joy for making cocktails starts.

Once in college, I started working behind my first bar, honing my skills on the classics and trying out new concoctions to keep our regulars excited to come back. In 2020, COVID-19 caused our restaurant to close its doors for a few months. In that time, I did what we all did — drink! I started crafting crazy new cocktails with whatever we had in the house and posting them on social media. One day, a friend asked: "Can you teach me and a few people how to make these drinks? I'll pay you..." and the rest is history. That was the birth of Cocktails with Cal — where great drinks and elevated bites take center stage, and every event feels like a party my parents would have thrown.
